Guess what? It's that wonderful time of year again! No, not Christmas, not summer, but SPRING BREAK! Spring Break always gives you some much needed relaxation time, whether you go anywhere or not. Lucky for me, I AM going away for Spring Break (I'm so excited!), but this implies the dreaded process known as packing. Ugh. So, I'm going to show you how packing can be MUCH less stressful, and help you focus more on preparation for your actual trip, NOT your clothes!
Step One: Lay all of your doll's clothes out first.
Here you can see a picture of all of the things I plan to pack! I've found that if I lay out my clothes first, it makes it easier to see everything that I have out and, ultimately, easier to see if I forgot anything! Think about the things that you plan to do on your trip, and even some things that you're not sure if you will do, but you might do. For example: I'm not sure if I'll go swimming, but I might, so I've packed swimsuits.
Step Two: Fold everything, even if you don't want to!
Even if you know that once you're actually on your trip that you'll totally disorganize your luggage and throw stuff back in (that's what ALWAYS happens to me!), FOLD YOUR CLOTHES UP NICELY. This keeps them from being wrinkled up and ugly when you need to use them! Also, I've found that rolling one's folded clothes helps make more space when you have a small luggage!
Step Three: Keep shoes separate from clothes.
This one I have learned from experience, and it's not a fun lesson to learn. If your shoes are dirty, or if they tend to rub their color on other fabrics, IT WILL RUIN YOUR CLOTHES. You don't want to have your pretty dresses all yucky when you get to where you're going! This is especially important for dolls, because clothes for us are usually harder to find and more expensive than people clothes! You can even put your shoes in a plastic bag to keep them away from your clothes, if you don't have a pocket in your luggage.
Step Four: Only pack what you need.
If you know that you probably won't have time to get on your electronic devices, then don't bring them! If you know that you probably won't have time for fancy hairstyles, then don't bring a lot of hair things that you won't need! If you are certain that the place that your are staying at will have some necessities (such as shampoo, conditioner, towels, and blow dryers,) then don't bring any! There's a thin line between being prepared for anything and over packing.
I hope that all of you have a fantastic Spring Break this year! Next week, I am taking a Spring Break from the blog, but I should be back to posting again on the 30th! I hope to have lots of photos from my trip to show you! I pray you'll all be safe in your travels!
May all of your dreams come true,
Cindy Rose
