How To Make Doll Sandals from Foam (DIY)

It's almost Spring Break, and that means that the weather is steadily getting warmer and warmer!   I love going swimming during this time of year, or walking outside.   Now, it's time to trade in those winter boots for some cute sandals!   We're going to show you how to make some yourself out of foam!

Start by tracing a pair of your doll's shoes in some foam and cutting it out.   It doesn't really matter what color, you can mix and match!

Using another color of foam, cut out another shoe tracing.   (Note: Our foam was sticky on one side, so we stuck it to some construction paper.   We were trying to go for a Mickey Mouse theme with the color scheme, but it turned out more McDonald's-ish.   Oh, well.)

Make sure that your two cutouts are the same size as each other!

Now, cut out a thin strip of foam.   This will be one of the straps.

Cut it to fit your doll's foot.   I used a little tape to hold it in place for now.

Fit this strap onto one of your cutouts, like so.

Now, you will use another strip of foam for the back strap.   It should look like this on your doll's foot.

This is what it looks like from the bottom of her foot.

Fit it onto your cutout,as well.   It should look like this on the bottom.

It looks like this from the top.   Looking cute, yes?

Now, I wanted to add a little decoration!   Cut out a strip of foam that is NOT THE SAME COLOR as your straps.

Cut out a small piece, like this.

Now, give it some curves inward, like so.

Cut out a small piece for the center.   Doesn't it look like a bow?   You'll need to hot glue these together.

Hot glue the second cutout to the bottom of your sandal and add the bow with hot glue.

You're all done and ready for the beach!   Enjoy your DIY sandals!

May all of your dreams come true,
Cindy Rose
